deCycles Pacific Mountains 2010
Journal Entry
Date: June 16
Day 4: Wednesday
Departure: Woodland, WA
Arrival: Portland, OR

Distance: 42 miles
Highlights: Easier day but still cold. Free time in evening.
Description: We woke up to another cloudy and cold day. When is this going to end? Late start but we had something to ride for…..Burgerville. A treat from a Portland deCycles veteran…..Lou Elliot. He paid for79-people to enjoy a lunch at Burgerville, a west coast burger joint. This made the student-riders very happy. They are already tired of the typical deCycles food. Me too!

We pedaled along several bike paths Portland is a world class bike path city. It doesn’t get any better than this. There are so many bike paths it can be confusing. They zigzag all over town.

We arrived cold and slightly wet after 42-miles. This is a great facility for our overnight stay. Free time was until 8:30pm. Several blew the curfew and their privileges are now toast. We have a big day tomorrow and everyone needs to be on top of their game.
Climate: Cloudy, drizzle, cold, low-50s. Brrrr!
Overnight: Unity Church of Portland
