deCycles Pacific Mountains 2010
Journal Entry
Date: June 24
Day 12: Thursday
Departure: Reno, NV
Arrival: Lake Tahoe/Stateline, NV

Distance: 81 miles
Highlights: Pedal around Lake Tahoe
Description: The biggest climbs so far were today. A 5000-ft climb in 15-miles up Mt. Rose on the way to Lake Tahoe. It required about 3-hours to climb with lunch at the summit. The downhill to Lake Tahoe was spectacular. The lake seen from way above was absolutely magnificent. Riders were given a choice of riding the long route around the west side of the lake, or the short version on the east side of the lake. 15-riders chose to take the long route. They were treated to world-class scenery but they had to pedal an additional 23-miles and more climbing. It was worth it.

Our overnight hosts provided a BBQ meal and a share time with their youth group. This congregation was extremely accommodating. We are so fortunate.
Climate: Cloudy, cool and cold at the summit top
Overnight: Tahoe Community Church
