deCycles Mexico to Canada 2019

YOU ARE INVITED: The Most Amazing deCycles 2019 Trip Ever!  June 20 - July 14

The National Parks of the United States are some of the most breathtaking landscapes gracing our Planet Earth.  Many Americans never get a chance to travel to any of these spectacular gems.  A visit can be expensive, time consuming, and just plain out-of-reach.  But this is YOUR lucky day.  You are being offered a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to visit 9 National Parks of the Western United States, inexpensively, and with a bunch of cool people all traveling in a very unique way ... by bicycle!

1500-miles in 3-weeks from Tucson, Arizona to Northern Montana by bicycle?  A cross-country border-to-border trip from Mexico to Canada?  Impossible?   Well ... it's up to YOU to decide!  Yes, most people don't do something like this. But this epic adventure is asking you to BE DIFFERENT!  You can do it ... it's been done before and it is FUN!

This trip will initially take you near the Mexican border visiting Saguaro National Park, known for the largest and most unique cactus plants on the planet. The low Arizona desert will be hot, so the biking will be done in the morning or evening.  In the next few days, the riders will climb 5000-ft over Pinal Pass to enter Tonto National Forest and past Roosevelt Lake to visit the highly popular tourist town of Sedona on a rest day. Next is Grand Canyon National Park, the biggest crack in the entire world. On the way is Oak Creek Canyon and Slide Rock State Park where riders will enjoy the dive rocks on their climb up to Flagstaff.  In the San Francisco Mountains will be a quick side trip to Sunset Crater and then a weekend in Page, Arizona and an optional boat excursion on Lake Powell through Glen Canyon to visit the largest rock arch formation in the world ... Rainbow Bridge. You will never forget this day for the rest of your life.

So far so good?  Yes, but this is just the beginning!  During Week #2, you will cycle through the Navajo Indian Reservation in Utah to visit Zion National Park and the Valley of the Gods with world-class hiking through The Zion Narrows and up to exhilarating Angels Landing. Next up will be your weirdest, wildest, and most unusual hike in your lifetime at Bryce Canyon National Park.  It's like something out of a Lord of the Rings movie. You will spend the 4th of July in Salt Lake City with fireworks in Jordan Park. After the longest day on the road into Wyoming will be a weekend in the charming western town of Jackson Hole.  This will lead up to Week #3 with two climbs over the continental divide and experiencing the most amazing thrills of the trip ... Grand Teton National Park and Yellowstone National Park.  A bicycle trip or any trip for that matter just doesn't get any better than this.

How will you get to the start point in Tucson?  The deCycles is offering a FREE airline flight from IND-TUS on June 20 to the first 25 student-riders who apply and are accepted.  The remaining riders can secure transportation to Tucson with the deCycles support vehicles that will depart Bloomington 2-3 days before the trip begins.  Or ... any student-rider or adult-rider can purchase their own individual airline ticket to Tucson with arrival no later than noon on June 20.

How will you return to Bloomington from Montana?  The deCycles will transport everyone back to Bloomington by 15-passenger vans. Riders can fly back on their own if desired, but flights from that area are very expensive.

Beginner and adult cyclists on all levels are welcome.  Register early because the roster fills quickly.  This is the best deal you'll ever find on any 3-week summer adventure in a far-away land.  You can send the completed registration form and trip fee by mail, or hand deliver to Norm & Cricket's Bloomington residence at 4165 Judee Drive or clinic at 2501 E. Third Street.  Hope you can join us.
